Bargaining underway for Community Social Services

There has been some progress at the bargaining table over the past five days, and discussions are set to continue over the weekend.

We hope to reach a fair and reasonable agreement, including a wage increase and continue to resist the pattern of settlements in other public sector agreements. Your multi-union bargaining committee remains focused on the issues that were identified as priorities by our members.

We will notify you immediately once bargaining concludes.

BCGEU, CUPE, HEU, HSA and six other unions, which together make up the Community Social Services Bargaining Association, represent community social service workers in British Columbia. There are 15,000 unionized community social service workers, and two-thirds of them work in community living.
